I am broadly interested in the etiology and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, and the promotion of mental well-being. Listed below are four themes addressed in my current research:
- Identifying causes of and developing novel treatments for mood and anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, including Transcranial Focused Ultrasound, Guided Psilocybin Sessions, and secondarily EEG biofeedback, and Transcranial Direct Current and Transcranial Alternating Current.
- Enhancing the acquisition of mindfulness skills and equanimity with Transcranial Focused Ultrasound.
- Identifying risk factors for depression using electroencephalographic and autonomic psychophysiological measures, particularly EEG asymmetry, resting-state fMRI connectivity, and cardiac vagal control.
- Understanding how emotion influences individuals' decision-making and self-monitoring, including error monitoring, reward learning, and cognitive control.
- The assessment of memory and amnesia using event-related potentials; Assessing deception and malingering; Assessment of memory and amnesia in dissociative disorders.
